Gotu Kola Extract (Centella asiatica)
Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica) is a small perennial herb native to the wetlands of Asia — particularly India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and China — with a documented history of medicinal use spanning over 3,000 years in Ayurvedic, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Indonesian traditional medicine. It is classified as a Rasayana herb in Ayurveda — the highest category of tonic herbs, traditionally used for longevity, rejuvenation, and cognitive wellness — and is one of the most important and widely used herbs in the Ayurvedic tradition.
Gotu Kola is sometimes called “the herb of longevity” and has a legendary association with cognitive and nervous system wellness in Asian herbal traditions. It is classified as a nervine, adaptogen, and connective tissue tonic herb in Western herbal medicine. This extract is prepared in 60% alcohol from Gotu Kola aerial parts.
