Lymph Flow — Botanical Extract
Lymph Flow is a multi-herb extract formulated around five botanicals with a long collective history of traditional use in Western herbal medicine for lymphatic, circulatory, and eliminative wellness. Each herb has been selected for its traditional role as a lymphatic, alterative, or circulatory herb in classical herbal practice.
About the Lymphatic System
The lymphatic system plays a central role in moving fluid, metabolic waste, and immune cells through the body. Unlike the cardiovascular system, it has no dedicated pump — it relies on movement, breathing, hydration, and the rhythmic contraction of lymphatic vessels to function well. Supporting lymphatic flow has been a cornerstone of traditional herbal medicine across many cultures for centuries.
Botanical Composition
- Calendula (Calendula officinalis) — one of the most widely used herbs in Western herbal medicine; traditionally used as a lymphatic and anti-inflammatory herb, and a classic inclusion in formulas for lymphatic and glandular wellness
- Burdock Root (Arctium lappa) — a traditional alterative and depurative herb with a long history of use in Western and Chinese herbal medicine for supporting the body’s natural elimination and cleansing processes; traditionally used to support lymphatic and urinary wellness
- Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea) — one of the most extensively researched herbs in Western herbal medicine; traditionally used to support immune and lymphatic wellness, and a classic inclusion in formulas for glandular and immune support
- Cleavers (Galium aparine) — known as “nature’s lymphatic broom” in traditional herbal practice; one of the most specific lymphatic herbs in the Western herbal tradition, with a long history of use to support lymphatic flow and urinary elimination
- Red Clover (Trifolium pratense) — a traditional alterative herb used in Western herbal medicine to support the body’s natural cleansing and eliminative processes; a classic ingredient in traditional blood and lymph formulas
Traditional Herbal Use
The herbs in this formula represent some of the most classic lymphatic and alterative botanicals in the Western herbal tradition. Alterative herbs — sometimes called “blood cleansers” in traditional practice — are a category of herbs traditionally used to support the body’s natural elimination pathways, including the lymphatic system, liver, kidneys, and skin. This formula combines lymphatic, alterative, and immune-supportive herbs for a broad traditional approach to lymphatic wellness.
